Alternatives are opening up
Sekond is building the infrastructure that makes semi-liquid funds work in real portfolios, for every client, not just the ultra high net worth.
Our story
Our drive for private market transparency began in 2011, when founder Rasmus Goksur launched Bison, which later became Cobalt, the analytics platform acquired by Hamilton Lane and FactSet. Cobalt helped bring clarity to institutional private markets.
Today the opportunity is with individual investors. More client wealth is moving into alternatives every year, but the research, data and tools haven’t kept up. So we built Sekond, the research and advisor enablement platform for semi-liquid funds.
Our vision
We want to help shape how the next generation of investors uses alternatives. For most of their history, private markets were built for institutions and the very wealthy. Advisors need to understand what they’re recommending, compare it to everything else on the table, and explain it clearly to the people they serve.
That takes infrastructure: trusted data, a common standard for evaluating these funds, and research that flows from the research team all the way to the client conversation. That’s what we’re building.
